LONDON, 4th MARCH, 2026 – The Korea Autonomous Driving Development Innovation Foundation (KADIF) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for cooperation in automated driving technology with Zenzic, a UK Government-backed automated driving innovation organisation, at the Royal Automobile Club (RAC) in London on Tuesday, 3 March.
The agreement aims to respond to the rapidly evolving landscape of automated driving technology, establish a foundation for cooperation to strengthen global competitiveness, and support the international expansion of domestic companies.
Through this MOU, both organisations have agreed to promote technical cooperation and exchange of validation infrastructure, including:
- Sharing knowledge and regulatory information related to automated driving technology
- Mutual access and operational cooperation for automated vehicle testbeds and Living Lab infrastructures
- Promoting international joint research to foster innovation and exchange best practices in the development and application of automated driving technology
- Supporting testing and verification activities for automated driving companies in both countries.
Notably, following the successful conclusion of the Korea-UK FTA improvement negotiations, cooperation in the future mobility and automated driving sectors is expected to expand. This MOU is projected to further strengthen technical collaboration and industrial ecosystem connectivity between the two nations.
Kwang-bok Jung, President of KADIF, said:
“We are delighted to establish our first global business partnership with Zenzic, an organization that has orchestrated the UK’s industrial ecosystem based on complex urban traffic environments and national-level validation infrastructure. Through this agreement, we will serve as a robust bridge, enabling outstanding companies from both countries to navigate each other’s industrial ecosystems freely and create new business opportunities.”
KADIF has been engaged in diverse activities to verify automated driving R&D technology, promote standardization, improve regulations, and enhance public acceptance in collaboration with various domestic and international organisations.
The partnership with Zenzic is expected to serve as a significant turning point, elevating the international credibility of Korean and UK automated driving technology and strengthening its competitiveness in the global market.
Mark Cracknell, Programme Director at Zenzic, said:
“This is a milestone moment for the UK and South Korean CAM industries, particularly when it comes to developing and deploying the connected and automated mobility solutions of tomorrow. The partnership will help to foster closer collaboration and knowledge sharing between the two nations while helping unlock innovation, drive growth and increase productivity for businesses operating in both markets. It is a fantastic opportunity for the industry and we look forward to working with the KADIF team and industry to drive the industry forward.”
