Zenzic is delighted to hear the Government’s continued support and investment into Connected and Automated Mobility (CAM) today, which builds on the new legal frameworks announced in the King’s Speech and supports the safe commercial development of self-driving vehicles.

What the Government’s announcement means for CAM UK

The investment to date by Government and Industry in CAM has demonstrated the ability for this technology to improve access to travel and increase safety on our roads. The opportunities that CAM provides for society and businesses is recognised globally and this announcement will ensure that the UK keeps pace with other countries’ investment and will continue to be a global player.

The current work that the UK is delivering through CAM Testbed UK, CAM Deployment UKCAM Supply Chain UK, CAM Scale-up UK, and CAM Roadmap 2035 spotlights the UK’s approach to innovation and demonstrates the broad and deep CAM ecosystem being created in the UK. 

In laying out a long term commitment to CAM the UK Government is signalling to Industry that the UK will be the place to develop and deploy CAM and can play a clear role in the global CAM supply chain

Following the Automated Vehicles Bill, November 2023 is a pivotal month in the UK CAM Sector, and Zenzic is looking forward to working with the Centre for Connected and Autonomous Vehicles, the Department for Business and Trade, the Department for Transport and other Government departments, and its industry partners in creating the exciting framework for delivering this ambition.
