V2X (vehicle-to-everything) is the communication technology for data exchange between vehicles, VRUs and infrastructure which can unlock significant improvements in road safety and efficiency, whilst also paving the way towards cooperative automated driving. The challenge now is to get the technology rolled out and widely implemented in the UK. By developing a scalable V2X architecture and implementing into CAM Testbed UK, this project will establish additional UK verification and validation capability such that stakeholders can validate the interoperability of their V2X systems in a private and controlled environment.

V2X Architecture
This report provides a specification for a V2X architecture and looks at the key factors which the architecture needs to take account of; ranging from the actors and their needs through to the technological components of a V2X system. The document proposes a scalable and flexible architecture which is capable of meeting the current needs, as well as being capable of evolving as the number of V2X applications increases.
UK National and International V2X Capabilities
Within this report an overview of the current UK V2X test capabilities, government and industry roadmaps, market needs and opportunities for alignment with other global V2X initiatives and systems. It contains a particular focus on defining optimal CAM Testbed UK V2X test and validation services.
