AN AUTOMOTIVE cybersecurity specialist has become the latest company to join a groundbreaking Connected and Automated Mobility (CAM) accelerator programme. Secure Elements has joined the CAM Scale-Up UK programme, which aims to help the UK become a world-leader in the development and deployment of CAM solutions.

Delivered by Zenzic, in partnership with Plug and Play, the programme is supported by funding from the Centre for Connected and Autonomous Vehicles (CCAV). CAM Scale-Up UK enables start-ups and SMEs to test their products and services at the world-leading CAM Testbed UK testing facilities, accelerating the process of bringing their products to market.

The programme will give Secure Elements the opportunity to rigorously test its cybersecurity solutions in real-world operating conditions and controlled lab environments, accelerating its Technology Readiness Level (TRL) and accelerating their market readiness.

Secure Elements founder, Saket Mohan, said: “We are thrilled to announce that we have joined the programme. As the automotive industry continues to evolve, integrating more connected and autonomous technologies, robust cybersecurity engineering and operations will become not just advantageous, but essential.”

“Vehicles are no longer just means of transportation; they are sophisticated networked systems vulnerable to a range of cyber threats. Our participation not only underscores our commitment to advancing automotive cybersecurity deep tech solutions but also provides significant benefits to UK CAM members by improving their security posture.

“By integrating and working with CAM Testbed UK, we will validate and increase the TRLs of our technology and prove that our solutions are robust, customer ready and adaptive to the evolving threats in the automotive sector, ultimately contributing to safer and more secure mobility solutions on a global scale.”

Participating in the programme will allow Secure Elements to engage with an extensive network of UK based tech start-ups, testbeds and mobility companies, ensuring that its solutions allow it to engineer products that are secure by design, while helping it maintain cybersecurity through the product life.

Mark Cracknell, Programme Director at Zenzic, said: “We are delighted that Secure Elements is starting its CAM Scale-Up UK journey.

“Secure Elements follows in the footsteps of a number of exciting CAM innovators to take part in the programme over recent years to help develop the CAM mobility solutions of the future.”

“Joining the growing CAM Scale-Up UK Alumni, and their shared successes, this is a great opportunity for Secure Elements to achieve validation and recognition of its technology and to continue to innovate and scale.”

So far, 28 SMEs have been supported by the CAM Scale-Up UK programme since 2020. Technology developed through the programme has included the world’s first pothole-fixing robot, self-driving passenger and freight vehicles, and advanced radar and safety software solutions enabling vehicles to navigate extreme weather.
