Derek Turner CBE becomes Chair of Meridian

Meridian welcomes Derek Turner CBE, FREng to the Chair as the organisation continues to accelerate in its first year of operation as the gateway to CAV development in the UK. He joins Ian Constance CEO of the Advanced Propulsion Centre, Bob Dover Chairman of Advanced Propulsion Centre, Iain Forbes Head of the Centre for Connected and Autonomous Vehicles (CCAV) and Dr Daniel Ruiz, CEO of Meridian on the Meridian Board.

Derek Turner CBE, FREng, is a former Deputy Chief Executive of the Highways Agency responsible for all aspects of the Strategic Road Network including the development of Smart Motorways. He was previously Managing Director of Street Management at Transport for London including the development and introduction of congestion charging and all aspects of London’s traffic signal installation and control systems.

Derek is a Visiting Professor in Civil, Environmental and Geomatic Engineering at University College London (UCL), a Chartered Civil Engineer and Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering.
